Iranian short film ‘Alan’ is scheduled to vie at the Silhouette Film Festival in France.

Directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, the film is to be screened at the competition section of the 16th edition of the movie.

‘Alan’ will compete with films from France, China, US, Hungary, Australia, Turkey, Tunisia, Poland, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Belgium, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Brazil, UK and Philippines.

The Iranian short film made its international debut at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival held February 3-11, 2017 in France.

“Many Kurdish people have lost their homes and families in ISIS attacks. This is the story of one of them,” a festival catalogue described ‘Alan’.

Silhouette Festival is the biggest outdoor short film festival in Paris and is entry-free.

Each year, the festival welcomes around 15000 people for nine days. Concerts start at 7:30pm every day and when the night falls, screenings begin.

Attendees enjoy a rich selection of fictions, documentaries, experimental films, animated movies and video clips.

The festival is to launch on August 25- September 02, 2017.
